Summer in The City: Dalston.

Top picks for dining in Dalston with Jordan Bunker.

If you’re on the hunt for the best places to wine and dine in Dalston, then look no further…

As a regular at Kingsland Locke and an expert in Dalston delicacies, Content Creator and Menswear Writer Jordan Bunker, gives us a tour of his favourite places to visit in Dalston this summer.

Let’s dive right into the good stuff then, shall we?

Dusty Knuckle Bakery.

@thedustyknuckle

"Whenever I'm staying at Kingsland Locke, I often head to Dusty Knuckle for breakfast. It's tucked off the main road on Abbot Street and my go-to order is a morning bun (sometimes buns) and a black americano. All the pastries are top tier, but I hear their pizza evenings are pretty great also."

Brunswick East.

@brunswick_east

"Across the road from the hotel you've got Gillett Square and Brunswick East, it's an Australian inspired café and their brunch menu is hard to rival. I'd say it's one of the reasons I base myself in Dalston when staying in London. On my last visit I went for the Okonomiyaki aka a Japanese savoury pancake and it was all kinds of good. They've even got their own little garden patch in the yard where they grow all their own garnishes for their two café locations."

Gillett Street, Dalston, N16 8JH

Papo's Bagels.

@paposbagels

"All credit goes to my friend Oli for providing me with the heads up about Papo's. Originally started in lockdown, they now do takeaway straight from their kitchen on Shacklewell Lane. It's a short walk from the hotel and it's definitely worth it. They open from 9am and close at 2pm, but don't leave it too late as you might be disappointed if they sell out before closing."

Allpress Coffee.

@allpressespressouk

"Should you need to park yourself up for a couple hours to get some work done then I feel that Allpress would be the place to go. Though I was only there for coffee, there were a few people on laptops tucked away in the booths and on the high tables. Maybe the plan is to work in the morning at Allpress and then walk to Papo's for a late breakfast bagel?"

KRAFT.

@kraftdalston

It wouldn’t be a guide to Dalston without our very own KRAFT, would it? Young, independent brands German Kraft Beer, Jim and Tonic Distillery and Seoul in a Bottle, join forces to offer a unique attraction in the heart of East London. KRAFT also hosts regular music nights which you don’t want to miss.

Modern Korean cuisine, tank-fresh craft beer and sustainable urban gin distilling all under one roof, what’s not to love?

L'atelier Dalston.

@latelierdalston

L’atelier is a small French cafe serving coffee, lunch and freshly baked cakes all day long. The relaxed rustic interior is a host to locals and digital nomads alike, supported by a cosy atmosphere and tasty coffee.

If you fancy staying into the evening to chat the night away, they also serve wine and crafted beers…
